Ron Ashe

Ron Asche is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Nebraska Public Power District. Prior to his selection as President and CEO on February 18, 2006, Mr. Asche served as the utility's Vice President of Finance, Risk Management, and Rates and Chief Financial Officer, a position he had held since September 1, 2003.

Mr. Asche was hired in February 1976 as an Accounting Systems Supervisor. Throughout his 30-year career with NPPD, he has held such leadership positions as Rate & Contract Manager, Rate & Budget Manager, Treasurer-Controller and Division Manager of Finance & Accounting. He was elected Treasurer on January 3, 1991 and was later named Chief Financial Officer in March of 1995 and Vice President of Corporate Support Services in April 1996.

He graduated from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln in 1971 with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He and his wife reside in Columbus, Neb., the utility's headquarters.
