LPPC Supports Bipartisan Fix Our Forests Act to Protect Electric Infrastructure and Reduce Wildfire Risk

The Large Public Power Council (LPPC), which represents 29 of the nation’s largest not-for-profit public power utilities, welcomes and supports the Fix Our Forests Act (S. 1462), which passed the United States Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry on a bipartisan vote this week. The legislation would reduce wildfire risk, restore forest ecosystems, and make federal forest management more efficient.
“This legislation will help protect critical electric infrastructure and improve forest health and wildfire resilience, a significant step forward for public power communities working to deliver reliable, affordable service while reducing wildfire risk.
“We urge the Senate to pass the Fix Our Forests Act and thank the committee members for advancing this bipartisan legislation.” – Tom Falcone, President, Large Public Power Council
