LPPC Signs on to Letter to U.S. Senate Urging Permitting Reform Legislation
On February 22, LPPC joined 600 organizations nationwide in co-signing a U.S. Chamber of Commerce letter to the United States Senate urging immediate, bipartisan permitting reform. America’s infrastructure buildout cannot wait. We need transparent, predictable, and durable federal permitting processes that ensure all critical infrastructure proposals receive timely consideration.
“In a matter of 8 to 10 years, we will have to double the capacity of OPPD,” said LPPC Vice Chair and CEO & President Javier Fernandez of Omaha Public Power District.
Electricity demand is rising. An efficient, durable federal permitting process helps build needed infrastructure, reduce costs, and maintain reliability — so utilities can plan responsibly and deliver for customers.
