LPPC Joins EEI, NRECA, and APPA on Joint Letter to FAA on its Unleashing American Drone Dominance Public Notice
LPPC joined EEI, APPA, and NRECA in urging the FCC to adopt policies that support the safe and scalable deployment of drones across critical infrastructure sectors. The filing highlights the growing role drones play in improving grid reliability, storm response, infrastructure inspections, and wildfire mitigation.
The associations emphasized that no single network or spectrum band can support all drone operations. Instead, the FCC should advance a flexible, multi-network approach that leverages commercial wireless networks, private utility broadband systems, and aviation spectrum to ensure both operational reliability and aviation safety.
LPPC supports policies that accelerate utility drone deployment while protecting critical infrastructure communications and maintaining the safety of the National Airspace System.
